Question. State any two differences between pure air and polluted air.
Answer : 
The composition of pure air contains 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen and 0.03% carbon dioxide. Besides these, there are some other gases like methane, argon, ozone and water vapors’.
The air is said to be polluted when the composition of air is altered by the addition of harmful substances or gases such as sulphur dioxide, carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide and particulate matter.

Answer :
 CFC : Chloro Fluoro Carbon
CO : Carbon Monoxide

Question. “The beauty of Taj Mahal is depleting day by day.” Why?
Answer :
 The major threat to the Taj Mahal is the acid rain. When the acid rain falls on the Taj Mahal, it reacts with marble of Taj Mahal and corrodes it. The phenomenon is also called “Marble cancer”.

Question. What do mean by water pollution? Name any two water pollutants.
Answer : 
Whenever harmful substances such as sewage, toxic chemicals, silt, etc., get mixed with water, it is called water pollution. The substances that pollute water are called water pollutants.
Name of water pollutants: Harmful chemicals from factories and detergents

Question. Suggest any two ways to purify water.
Answer :
 1) By filtration of water
2) by boiling the water and
2) by chlorination of water.
